Environmental Assessment Report For 3 Main Road Projects

RM 450.00

GEORGE TOWN, October 05 – A Contractor of a Major Roads Project in Penang today revealed that it would build two tunnels and two elevated roads stacked on each other as it meanders below and above the island’s old streets as the 4.1km Jalan Pangkor to the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu (LCE) Expressway bypass had to be built using tunnels since flyovers could not be built on existing roads which were too narrow. This is as part of a bypass road project already approved by environment regulators from a road near Gurney Drive to a coastal expressway on the island and is expected to begin in the next seven years.  (PN Images/JohnShenL)
